Exciting News! Anakin & Mika will be on Kitten Bowl V on the Hallmark Channel!

Exciting News!! Anakin and Mika are going to be on TV! They will have a small featured segment in Kitten Bowl V on the Hallmark Channel, Sunday February 4, 12/11c. Kitten Bowl V this year will feature video clips of special kitties like Anakin & Mika to help promote to their viewers to consider rescuing and adopting  "special needs" kittens and cats. We are thrilled to have Anakin & Mika be a part of this & hope you will tune in to see them on the show. I know it will be asked so I will answer that now, Their video segment was created using video footage I made of Ani & MIka. No, I did not let anyone come to my house & film them ;) Also you can make your own Cat-lete Trading Card of your cat and learn more about the wonderful kitty adoptions that happen because of this show on the Kitten Bowl V Website here, http://www.hallmarkchannel.com/kitten-bowl

WIP Bakeneko/Nekomata Ace of Wands for 78 Tarot Mythical. Clouds! Lots of clouds in the sky :) I hope to finish the background today. 

Bakeneko/Nekomata Rough Sketch for 78 Tarot Mythical

For my 78 Tarot Mythical Card I'm painting the Mythological Japanese Demon Cat called Bakeneko/Nekomata. I haven't decided what to call him yet exactly. From my research it seems Nekomata "Forked Tail" and Bakeneko "Changed Cat" are very similar. I've read a lot of info about them both & the sites each explain them both a little differently. One site even calls Nekomata a breed of Bakeneko? It's all rather confusing to me. I'm leaning towards Nekomata since he does have the forked tail & is in the mountains but I'm not sure.

My card is the Ace of Wands. It's a positive card full of personal power, confidence, enthusiasm, new beginnings, hope for the future, ready to take on the world! I used a lot of the symbolism and card elements from the traditional Ace of Wands Cards- I’ve got the fire, the Japanese castle in the distance, the forest will be in the background. The bamboo wand with the new growth sprouts on it. The clouds from the original card are in his kimono and the blue of his kimono will represent the river.

I absolutely LOVE my sketch & I can't wait to start painting :D I hope you like it too. I have less that a month to get this whole painting done so I have got to get moving on this asap!

Additional  info: The painting is signed on the front by me, initials & date  and also signed on the back by me including the title and date. What's Up Next for Me? I will be painting my 78 Tarot painting asap! I also have a lot of boring behind the scenes art business stuff that has to be taken care of this month for the new year. I know, I know, It has to be done! :P Then I will be getting ready for my first show of the year. Pensacon is in February & my already made stock is kind of depleted.
