Romeo Health Update ❤️

Romeo is much better than he was but still not 100% yet. He has Bartonella aka cat scratch fever. We think he got it from an infected flea possibly from one of the stray cats that goes through our backyard. Then the flea came on the screen porch and bit him so we’re planning on spraying the yard for fleas. or its possible that he has had that in his system since he was a kitten and for some reason, it’s just now showing itself. Also they said humid climates up to 40% of cats are carriers of Bartonella and usually don’t show any symptoms. Or it’s possible that he might not even be sick from that and just have some kind of upper respiratory infection. They really aren’t sure. It!s kind of weird. They said we didn’t need to put him on antibiotics since he doesn’t have a fever anymore. So we’ve just been treating his other symptoms and it can take a few weeks for him to get all better.

❤️ Rest in Peace Trixie ❤️ 4/6/2010 - 11/21/2025 🌈 I am heartbroken to share that yesterday we helped Trixie to the Rainbow Bridge. Trixie was a huge part of our family for over 15 years. She was a very social kitty and was always friendly to anyone that came to visit whether she knew them or not. Trixie was the best big sister to not only her own sister Pixie but also to all of the new kittens we took in after accepting all of them and loving on them all even when they are grown. She was also the absolute best art supervisor that I will probably ever have. I have so many pictures of her at my art table checking on and laying or sitting on anything I was working on at the time. We already miss her so much and our home will never be the same without her. I hope that she is playing with Kazu, Forrest and all our other kitties at the Rainbow Bridge 🌈💔 We love and miss you so much Trixie ❤️😿 Xoxo!

❤️ Trixie Health Update ❤️

Trixie was diagnosed with tumors about a month ago. She has one between her heart and lungs and another smaller one further down in her abdomen. We don’t know for sure that it’s cancer but we would be treating it with the same medications either way. Trixie is about 15 1/2 years old so we do not want to put her through traveling to specialists & lots of stressful vet visits or any kind of invasive surgery, chemotherapy and/or radiation. We are treating her with steroids, appetite, stimulant, Nutracal, all the kinds of food she wants to eat and tons of extra love and cuddles. I have made more detailed public posts over on, Anakin & The Gang’s Patreon ( Anakintwolegs ) if you would like more details. Right now she is doing well, Trixie does get tired very easily, but overall she still acts like she feels pretty good most of the time and is eating good, drinking water, using the potty, & purring. She even carried around her little fuzzy toy meowing like she does when she’s happy. I appreciate any and all good thoughts and well wishes for Trixie ❤️ I will keep you posted on how she is doing.
