Day of the Dead 2014 Wall Calendar by Amber Lotus Publishing

So pleased to share that my "Day of the Dead Cat" painting is featured on the month of March is this gorgeous Day of the Dead 2014 Wall Calendar by Amber Lotus Publishing

http://www.amberlotus.com/productdetails.cfm?sku=14DD&isbn=9781602377622&title=day-of-the-dead-2014-wall-cal

This calendar measures 12" x 12"  ISBN: 9781602377622  $14.99 (also available on Overstock.com, Barnes & Noble, etc.)

"The Mexican celebration of the Day of the Dead has entered mainstream popular culture with a colorful splash, with images of sugar skulls appearing on everything from apparel to jewelry and tattoos. The art of handcrafting sugar skulls and decorating them with colorful paint and sparkling embellishments has been passed down through generations of folk artists. In Day of the Dead celebrations, these small sculptures serve as gifts to the living and adorn the altars of the deceased.

Art inspired by the sugar-skull tradition is abundant and diverse. Contemporary artists draw on this rich tradition while demonstrating a remarkable variety of artistic styles. With their toothy grins and bold hues, the sugar skulls featured in the Day of the Dead wall calendar pay homage to the ancestors but are also a vibrant tribute to life and this living folk tradition.

The interior pages of our calendars are printed on either FSC-certified or 100% recycled, 50% post-consumer paper, processed chlorine free and printed with soy based inks. We use recycled paper on all our cards, calendars, and journals."

I Painted Yesterday! Yay! Anakin was my helper...

So yesterday for the first time since I brought Anakin home.... I Painted! Yay! I am finishing up a painting of a gorgeous cat with a pair of cute little owls. Of course the second I had all of my art supplies out Anakin had to come over and see what I was up to. He smelled my paint water, paint brushes and looked around at the canvas for a minute. Then went up to the perch on the cat tower and watched me paint from there. He's going to be such a good little painting helper :) Oh an yes I will be painting & drawing Ani once this painting is done ;) For those of you that are new to Anakin's page or my artwork. I'm a Fantasy cat Artist and you can see more of my artwork on my Facebook page for my artwork here, http://www.facebook.com/Tigerpixieart or on my website here, http://www.Tigerpixie.com
