Anakin making Happy Feet, Kitten kneading making biscuits
Anakin making Happy Feet or "making biscuits". I made this video today (6/19/12). Ani is feeling so much better & it shows! He's such a sweet happy little guy!
Meet Anakin! Ani is a two legged cat, born without a pelvis or back legs but that doesn't stop him. He is full of love & life! My family and I rescued Anakin and I am caring for him. My family and I are lifelong animal lovers and will give Ani the absolute best possible home, love and care. Anakin Our Two Legged Kitten Being a Little Spaz
Anakin being a spaz! He's feeling so much better since his surgery. Ani had surgery earlier this week to correct a prolapsed rectum and had some complications from his surgery. This morning he was making up for all the down time he's had this week. Check out that Crazy Face! LOL! :)

Meet Anakin "Ani" our new kitten without back legs
We have a new kitten! A very special new kitten. I wasn't looking to get another cat right now but you know how these things just happen.... About two weeks ago a kitten without back legs started coming over to eat with the other feral cats at my dad's work. My first few trips to attempt to catch it didn't work out. Then Thursday (5/31), Ian, Angel and I went to see if this was the day we could catch it. The kitten was cowering in the bushes and I climbed into the bushes and pulled the kitten out. We brought the kitten home and I set it up in our hall bathroom, exactly like I did with Trixie & Pixie two years earlier. Friday morning (6/1) I took him to our vet as soon as they opened. Our vet said she has never seen anything like him before and he is amazing and that it's also amazing that his mother took care of him even with his handicap. She examined him and he is a little boy, approximately 6 to 8 weeks old and it in really good health. Two xrays on him showed he was born with no pelvis or back legs. We let him walk around the room for a minute to see how he moves. He positions his front legs at an angle towards the middle of his body and balances his backend in the air with the use of his tail touching the ground if he needs it. He gets around really well that way and is pretty quick too. The xray also showed that his insides were not malformed, last was the feline leukemia test. He's came back negative. So we got him vaccinated, dewormed and a little flea meds and unless we have any problems with him, he goes back to the vet in three weeks :) Now, he is home getting comfy in his little bathroom and will be there for a while till he is bigger, stronger and ready to be socialized with the other cats and our dog. He is such a sweet calm little guy :) He is happy to cuddle in our laps and purrs really loud. He likes to play with a little toy mouse and also chase a beaded necklaces around on the floor. We have decided to name him Anakin and will be calling him "Ani" (yes after Anakin Skywalker :D ) Here's an album of photos of him I've started on Facebook Anakin Our Kitten Without Back Legs and video of him walking....

I hope you are enjoying the Spring Time! I have been staying super busy. I had my artist's alley table at MegaCon in February. I've went on vacation to Disney and the Big Cat Rescue with my family in March. As for April, I've been doing a lot of spring cleaning here around my house and studio too. Now it's time to get back to some art! ;D So I have a few thing to share with you today! New Art! "St. Paddy's Day Cat" ! Yes, she's a little late for this year's St. Patrick's Day BUT better late than never! ;) New Tubes at Creative Design Outlet! Photo's from my appearance at MegaCon 2012.

Zoe's been sick again :(
I've had her at the vet 3 times in the last week and 1/2. She had been getting a shot once a week for her back pain. Then I noticed she had not been eating or drinking as much and was sleeping a lot. So I took her to be checked out last Monday. After a full exam, urine test, blood work and getting fluids.... It turns out that she has lost almost 3 lbs. (she's such a big girl, it's hard to tell when she's losing weight), has another bladder infection but also she has gone from Hyperthyroidism to Hypothyroidism. Her kidneys and liver numbers they check were also a little off but not too drastic for a cat of her age (13yo) and she is also anemic right now. I know, she's a mess isn't she! :( So she's off the Thyroid meds, got an antibiotic shot and an anti-nausea shot to help her want to eat. She's doing a little better. I had to find some different foods for her to eat since she doesn't want her usual dry food. If she had her way all she would eat is Partymix treats! I’ve had to trick her into thinking she’s getting a bunch of treats every time I feed her. I give her a handful of the new dry food with one or 2 treats in it on the floor or where she’s sleeping when I feed her. Silly cat won’t even eat it out of a bowel! I've also been loading her wet food with lots of extra water because I don't think she's drinking enough on her own. I've been feeding her little bunches of dry food or wet food 4-5 times a day. I can't give her the Nutracal like I'd give to Tabby because Zoe foams at the mouth and throws up it and any food she's eaten. Yeah, I can't really force feed her much for the same reason. Even with her pills if I didn't get them right down her throat the fist time she's throw up! Anytime I go to open her mouth for pills or whatever she locks her jaw shut and I have to pry her mouth open. Poor baby doesn't realize that I'm trying to help her *sigh* So all in all she's doing a little better, not even close to 100% But definitely not getting worse. She's supposed to have her blood work redone in 3-4 weeks. Hopefully she'll be much better then *fingers & toes crossed*
