WIPS! Elemental Cats, Air, Earth, Fire, Water, Rough Sketches...

Here are all 4 very, very rough sketches of my Elemental Cats. They will each be 8x10 paintings and will all fit together as one big print with a neat kind of star burst in the middle.....









They will be really pretty when they are all done and a little different from my normal paintings. I'll post more WIPs of them as I am painting them ;)

Designer jewelry pendants inspired by my fantasy cats created by Pacific Trading Giftware! The pendants measure about 1.5 - 2 inches in length and have an 18" black cord necklace with 2" extender chain. Louis Wain "The Man Who Drew Cats"

I Love Louis Wain's cats. :) I've even had a few people compare my artwork to his. I think it's a nice compliment. Here's a neat video about Mr. Wain's cats & life...



It's so sad to see he was ill in his later years :( How fitting he was able to live out the rest of his life surrounded by cats.

Edited to add...There is some debate over if it really was his illness that caused him to create that way or if he was just experimenting with patterns.

From Wikipedia ..."It is not known if these works (The patterned paintings) were created in the order usually presented, as Wain did not date them......Wain experimented with patterns and cats, and even quite late in life was still producing conventional cat pictures, perhaps 10 years after his [supposedly] 'later' productions which are patterns rather than cats." I guess we will never know for sure.

I'm in a newspaper article about Artists on Etsy....

The article was in our local paper ( Pensacola News Journal ) on Saturday 3/7 on the front of the Life section :) I was a little disappointed that they didn't show my artwork I sent BUT I am very glad that they put my website link in the article. Weird isn't it... An article about selling on Etsy and they put my website link not Etsy Shop link. They also goofed and said that the other girl they interviewed is "Tigerpixie" on Etsy. "Steampunk Cat" WIP #1

Here's what I've done so far :) Just the basic background. It's not at all what I planned for the background BUT I think it works and is going to be really cool once it is all done. I'm going to add some neat "flying machines" in the valley behind her and in the distant sky :D .....



Here is the rough sketch of her if you missed it earlier. I know it's kind of hard to see her in the wip pix since i painted all over parts of it while painting the background ...

WIP! "Steampunk Cat" Rough Sketch....

I've had this drawn up waiting to have time to paint it for a while!! Yes, I have been drawn into the world that is Steampunk! After seeing so many amazing costumes at Dragon*Con I was inspired to draw this pretty kitty! A little different from my norm but I really like it! There will be a guy kitty too but I haven't drawn him yet. They will make a really nice matching pair ;) I'm keeping the background a secret, I'll just say it's going to be really cool!



Sorry I've been so absent on here. I have sooooooo many things going on right now. I am just swamped!! I'll have some cool stuff to share in a few weeks ( hopefully sooner) though so it will all be worth it ;D

I got one finally and I cut off the darn title!!! :P It should say "AMAZING ART by Artists that inspire me" Well I've never made one before. I was in shock when the little box popped up. I just pasted in a title and clicked the button before it was gone LOL!

I just added a bunch of my fave artists & friends. It's weird because not all of them show. I mean I see them but they aren't on the page. I couldn't fit everyone. Maybe I'll catch one of these another time and get to add the rest of you I admire too *fingers crossed*

I hope it I did this right other than cutting off the title LOL! I still can't believe I did that! :/
